Paris, Britney and Obama? Really? McCain, REALLY?

Ok, somehow I don't think Obama is quite in the same celebrity ballpark, or universe for that matter, as Britney and Paris. (Fun Fact: Hiltons donated to McCain. What does Paris' daddy think of that commercial?) Obama, celebrity? Sure, I guess. But a little different celebrity than Paris and Britney. And McCain, why did you pick two white girls to compare him to? What about Ashanti or Lil' Kim?

I have a hard time understanding how there is even a presidential race at this point.

As if I wasn't already excited about GENCON. The Catwoman is a Libertarian!

That video makes me think that Obama could be the antichrist, as foretold in Revelations, by Jerry Falwell, and the Left Behind series.

Deductively, if you take each letter of Obama's name and assign it to the proper zodiac sign and sequence (O=Leo=5) add them up, you get 666.

To under stand why this race is even neck and neck(with John McCain in the lead as of today) you have to look at first the people that Obama had close to him. Have you ever heard of Louis Farrakhan. It was at his house that Obama announced that he would run for President. Please read up on him on Wikipedia. And he spent 20 years with Jeremiah Wright. Most of you should know who this is but if you don't I provided another link.

Ok on to flip flops. John McCain came out awhile back and said that we needed to drill for are own oil. At the time the polls where showing that only 40% of Americans wanted this. This was called a flip flop. Which true it kinda was. Back in 2000 when McCain voted against this oil was at the 70-80 dollar range. When it got up to 130 dollar a barrel he knew that most amercians needed the help. Plus the government spends 1.3 trillion a year on oil with are money. And this money that is spent goes to people that don't like us. People that attack us. Yeah I know that we are the big bully's that some of you think that we are, but in my eyes where not. Ill touch on this in a bit.

Ok over the weekend Obama comes out and says he is for offshore drilling now?? WTF??? Oh wait I know why the polls came out last week. 70% of amercians want to drill. This is a flip flop. But the media dosn't cover it this way. Its a change of mind to them. Funny how this works. The media biased no.........

On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly. All I've said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that.
Part of the reason they didn't have it was purposeful, because those who are opposed to abortion have a moral calling to try to oppose what they think is immoral. Oftentimes what they were trying to do was to polarize the debate and make it more difficult for people, so that they could try to bring an end to abortions overall.
He is a baby killer and I can not get over this. Iam not a big fan of abortion but I dont hold it against anyone if they do it first term. When he was on the Illions Senate he block the attempt by his fellow senators to make late term of third term abortion illegal. And this form this year,
As president, my goal is to bring people together, to listen to them, and I don't think that's any Republican out there who I've worked with who would say that I don't listen to them, I don't respect their ideas, I don't understand their perspective. And my goal is to get us out of this polarizing debate where we're always trying to score cheap political points and actually get things done.

Thats about all I got in me today maybe more tomorrow or sometime this week.

Tim, not that I don't believe you, but didn't Obama announce his candidacy at the Illinois State Capitol?

So McCain did a 'kind of' flip flop, and Obama a full fledged one? Both have changed their opinions on this. I don't think either one is wrong in doing so. The problem is that it comes in an election year where you have to be rigid on your beliefs no matter what.

While a whole bunch on the left won't like it, Obama's position is the sort of compromise that actually gets things done in government. An opening for drilling on certain coasts for a renewal of some taxes on the oil companies. That sounds reasonable, unless you truly believe that cars will be run off hydrogen in the near future (I don't). This position gets to the point of your quote.

Your stance on abortion doesn't jive with Obama's. If you believe its important enough an issue, don't vote for him.

Good to see you here again Iowa Born. Tim, you make some excellent points, though I have always been ok with people changing their minds if new information is presented and does so. I would rather them 'flip-flop' if they believe that is the right course of action rather than just stay pig-headed one path and now I can't change my mind. Is it maybe for political gain too? Sure, but I do believe both sides are in on that one constantly.

The whole tire gauge thing was weird. I was surprised to hear McCains camp was handing those out. Seems like they think they can win the white house by mockery. The thing is, Obama does have an extensive energy plan. Oh yeah, and Mr. McCain, inflating your tires to the proper pressure actually does save gas.

By the way, iowa born, I enjoyed the songs. Welcome to the Peltgrande blogger. I have a lot of readers, but not many posters. Nice to see a few posters.

Yes true it does save gas. And most of us keep are tires aired up. But Travis don't you remember in April when Hillary and McCain wanted a summer tax break and Obama was against this. He made a big deal about how it was only 18 cents a gallon. Now he is making a big deal about 12 cents that only some people could save. I dont know about anyone else but I check my tired every two weeks and have for years. Obama to me is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. What does he even stand for what is he running on. Give me some thing better then change. The change he is talking about is what we are all going to have left after he taxes us into a hole.
